Isn’t it just so weird how some of the strangest things can trigger a memory and bring you back to a certain time in your life?  Our evenings are very much the same each night…after the kiddos are in bed, I’m on the computer right next to Mr. Hatten watching tv.  Last night was funny though because he landed on “Back to the Future.”  Whoa!  It just brought me back.  The highlight…the words “flux capacitor.”  I haven’t heard that in FOREVER and realized that I just don’t seem to use that term often enough in everyday life.  Yeah, yeah, I know that the flux capacitor is used in space craft but I just had visions of me leaning over the mechanic changing the tires on my very sporty mini-van and nonchalantly saying to him, “Would you mind checking the flux capacitor?”  Or even after a workout, “I think I injured my flux capacitor.”  So many uses!

Oh, and one other random rambling…have you had this tea?  It is my FAVORITE!  It is the absolute best.  I drink it A LOT.

Okay, one other item worth noting…I have a black eye.  It’s quite a nice shiner.  I really do need to take a picture of it.  Let’s just say that I’ve been officially initiated as “mom of boy.”  Well, let me take that back.  I think I may have been first initiated when I learned that “boy who eats sand later has sandy diaper.”  Anyway, as for my battle wound story, we rock-a-bye a bit every night before bed and sometimes he gets a case of the silly’s and completely gets me giggling.  The other night his silliness stemmed around needing to kiss me on my cheek.  After a good dozen of these, I turned my head at about the same time he threw his head back being silly and wham!  The crazy thing was that he was actually still cute because he kept saying, “bonk.”  Needless to say, I went to bed with a tiny little knot and woke up with a lovely ring of bright purple.  I think I just look tough.

Anyway, figured I should at least share a few pics…here’s a few more from this session.  How sweet can he be??

Don’t ask.  He just gives this look sometimes.  I think he’s pretty darn cute…even with the stink-eye…

Five years ago today, I was holding a brand new, beautiful baby girl.  Now she’s a five-year-old beautiful girl and she’s still certainly my baby.  She has given us an AMAZING five years…she completely lights up our worlds.  I love that girl more than she could possibly imagine.

As for her latest and greatest:

(discussion on hot lunch prepared by another preschool mom…)
Me:  What was for hot lunch today?
Little Miss:  A’s mom brought homemade soup.
Me:  Oooh, what kind did she bring?
Little Miss:  Homemade.

(Me in the kitchen, kiddos in the living room.  Upon hearing the “I’m frustrated” cry by my little man…)
Me to Little Miss:  Did you just push him?
Little Miss:  (no response from the living room)
Me:  Did you just push him? (a bit louder)
Little Miss:  No.  I was just giving him a boost.

(In the midst of doing Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones workout…)
Little Miss:  Do you want your belly like me and daddy’s?
(umm…nice, I just couldn’t quite stay in plank for obvious reasons.)

(After she had her birthday card read to her…)
Little Miss:  Oh my goodness, I think I’m going to have to hold my nose so I don’t cry.

SHE JUST MAKES ME HAPPY! :)

Okay, so I am HORRIBLE about showcasing the products I offer.  I know that I should be better so here I am, with a post on one product piece I offer.  The 4×6 Accordion Album.  This is a leather album that arrives in a silk lined box for the perfect keepsake or special gift.

…his favorite food, so he says.  Followed by the puzzled look, head shake and grin from his parents.  You have to love the shear random questions and responses from this age.  I LOVED this session!  I had to tell Mom that it’s supposed to feel like a whirlwind.  I mean here we are in an area of town with shops and small restaurants and plenty of people enjoying the sunshine and the sites (including our session).  And then we throw a three-year-old, a four-year-old, and their parents out into the middle with a strong effort to capture those priceless interactions and special moments.  Welcome to a custom photography photo session!!  It will rock your world!  So, between one broken lollipop and one fall in the mud, we came out ahead, WAY ahead.  Thanks R family for a memorable and superfun session…truly, I loved every bit of it!  Hope you like your sneak peek…

This one just makes me SO happy…it’s infectious!

Can you say “spitfire?!”  My abs still hurt from laughing…  (little A, this one’s for you and your favorite color….PINK!)

Ugh…crazy, busy, fast week with not nearly enough sleep.  On the positive, the snow is melting and spring is certainly knocking.  I have enjoyed the winter but am ready for a change.  I took my kiddos to the park today and it just felt good to be out in the sunshine without having to do the production of snowpants and such.  Bring the warm weather on…

In the mean time, I thought I would share some more from this session…pure sweetness.
