Yes, I’m starting to see the light.  Whew!  I wasn’t sure if it was there!!  I adore all of the families that I’ve put sessions together for this year but I must say that the one I’m most excited to throw myself into is my own.  I’m craving the Christmas season and giving myself entirely to my crew.  They have been so very supportive and patient during this busy season.  I never lack little arms around my neck and each night I go to bed so very much later than them, I always have someone who rubs my back and tells me he loves me…no matter what.

As we are embarking on this holiday season, I do want to share some of my favorites:

1. Playskool ball popper.  If you don’t have one, get one.  No matter how old you are.  We’ve had it for years and it never lacks play.

2. Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon.  This is definitely our book of the year.  The illustrations are wonderful and the story is perfect.  This is about a little girl who has the best attitude and makes the most out of what others view as imperfections.

3. Elizabeth Mitchell, You Are My Little Bird.  This is an oldie but goodie.  We have listened to this one repetitively this year and it NEVER gets old, never.  Little Miss singing “Three Little Birds” NEVER gets old.  Truly, if you don’t have this one and want some music that works for everyone, this is it.

4. Taylor Swift, Fearless. Okay, so I, along with every 4 to 12-year-old girl, love this CD.  Every song on it is great.  If you’ve been thinking about getting it, just do it.  You won’t be disappointed.

5. Dine-n-Doodle. I haven’t bought one of these…yet.  I’m quite convinced that I may, however.

6. Riley Roos.  Although we are pretty much too old for these now, I must say these are the best shoes for early and toddler walkers.  Love these.

7. Fat Witch Brownies. Hands down, the best brownies.  A bit pricey of a treat but worth it…order early!

8. My favorite wine. There is no other red wine, is there?

9. Anne of Green Gables.  Okay, so this has been around before but just in case you missed it.  Like a good book, you won’t be able to move away from it.

That’s all I can think of right now and no blog post is a blog post without photos so here you go.  Who says that 28 degrees is too cold for a photo session??

So, on several occasions, I’ve had to stop and think to myself, “Is it normal to enjoy going to the Ob/gyn?”  I’m sure this is a common thought, right?  Okay, so maybe not.  Well, let me do share.  I LOVE to go to the ob/gyn.  Isn’t that funny?  I would go there ten times before I would go to the dentist once.  Here’s the kicker, I adore my doctor and I adore the office she resides in.  Each time I go in there, it’s like I’m getting together with girlfriends…minus the whole exam part, of course.  That just shows how very good they are at their job.  Truly, astounding!  I have always felt so very well cared for and cared about.  I will never forget when we had Little Miss and I looked at our doctor who also had tears in her eyes.  I guess it could have been her contact but that wouldn’t make as good of a story.  In all seriousness, I have developed the utmost respect for her, her nurse, and her office that there was no way I could say no when asked if I would be interested in helping decorate their office with some of my prints.

Whew, that was a bit of a dry spell!  November is going by too quickly for me!!  I’m certain it is going by too quickly for you also so just wanted to toss out the reminder to all of my 2009 clients that I’ve extended my deadline for holiday orders to next week.  I do take December off to focus entirely on my family so will not be processing any orders after this month.  If you’re looking at Christmas cards, I would love to put some together for you!

This fall has been a busy one and I’ve been stockpiling some of my favorite photos to share.  Here are a few more from this session.

Okay, fine, I’ll take one for the team.  I’ll hang out with a couple cute one-year-olds. ;)

Just wanted to share a sneak peek of this session with these two cousins.  It was a chilly one but they were so very good.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love the age of one???

Thanks so much again guys for braving the wind and chill to capture a few moments of your kiddos…they’re nothing short of adorable!

So, seriously, sometimes it’s just plain funny…

1. Wake up, get ready.  Have to take kiddos in for flu shots at 8:30AM.

2. Exit bathroom, notice that both of the kids doors are open.  (please note that one-year-old is in crib)

3. Both are sitting in crib with big smiles on their faces.  I smile too, of course.

4. Lift kiddos from crib.

5. Start making breakfast, which constituted of eggs and toast with jelly.

6. Concurrently make lunches, which constituted of pb&j for Little Miss and me both.

7. Notice that we are sort of running behind.

8. Get breakfast plates on the table and gather the troops.  Troops eat breakfast.

9. Quickly grab a bite of jellied toast.

10. Sprint to laundry room to iron pants.

11. Gather preschool items and finish packing lunches.

12. Get clothes ready for kiddos.

13. Wash everyone up.  Little Buddy has insisted in a “don’t take it away or I’ll scream very loudly” way that he would like to hold the washrag.  I don’t argue.  My pleasure, take the washrag.

14. Start putting dishes by the sink (what, 10 seconds??).

15. Hear “slosh, slosh.”  I have found this to be a rather frightening sound with a one-year-old.

16. Quickly begin to head upstairs to be met by a one-year-old holding a washrag with two steady streams of water standing outside the bathroom door.  Quickly run up to chase a giggling little boy back into the bathroom.  Where would a one-year-old boy find readily accessible stash of water?  Yes, the toilet.  Grab rag, toss in bathtub, quickly remove jammies, wipe up the extremely wet floor, toss towel in bathtub, scoop up Little Buddy (whom is still quite content with himself) to be dressed.

17.  Look down at freshly ironed pants, entire bottoms fully saturated with nothing else but, well, toilet water.  Evaluate this briefly.  Check clock.  Wear the same jeans that I seem to wear everyday or wear an alternative VERY wrinkled pair of pants?  Who am I kidding?  Proceed – the toilet water soaked pants will dry.

18. Dress all, gather all, load all, head to the dr. office.

19. Arrive, play, go to room.  Nurse comes in.  Tension has risen.  Lots of tears.  No needle in site.  Only finished paperwork.  Little Buddy continues to entertain himself by climbing up and down the chair.

20. Second nurse comes in to see if first nurse needs any help (not a good sign).  Let’s just say that the chances are very high that the decibel level may have been risen somewhat.

21. Shots complete.  Of course, lots of tears, lots of hugs.  (In all honesty, I was so very proud of both of them.)

22.  Make next appointment.  Visit with receptionist and nurses.  (I adore our pediatrician’s office.)

23. Move the troops out.

24. Load up in car.

25. Start car.  Pull visor down to look in mirror.  Need to evaluate the damage.

26.  Highlight – notice jelly on lip.  See number 9.

Funny thing, I wouldn’t trade any of this for the world.

While I’m here, thought I would share a few more from this session

Just sending out a belated Happy Halloween…

They don’t call me Martha Stewart for nothing.  Or wait, I’ve NEVER been called Martha Stewart.  Little Miss and I did decide to be festive though with our witch creations…
