You know, I have to admit, I’m certain I don’t show it all that much but I’m moderately intense during my sessions.  I’m always thinking and thinking…between helping choreograph a session, engaging (and comforting) your subjects, finding the right light, and manipulating your camera settings, my mind is typically going a hundred miles an hour.  It’s funny because I love all of this but I also love those moments where I’m just me and completely relaxed and spending time with a family.  This session was no exception.  Yes, it’s intense but it’s just stepping back a second and looking at a beautiful sleeping newborn boy that can nearly take your breath away.  I suppose, it has a lot with being a mom but truly, the miracle of the beginning of a new life offers a feeling that is indescribable.  Thanks F family for sharing your family with me yet again…I’m loving watching your little crew grow.  Now, go keep having more. ;)

I couldn’t resist posting this one…

Big brother was certainly not off the hook…how can one resist those eyes…au naturel, folks.  You may remember him from this post.

Can’t wait to show you more!! :)

1. Train graffiti fascinates me.  It just does.  Don’t quote me but some of it is actually really good!
2. I’m really not much of a fan of spearmint…why does ANYONE like it?
3. R&B music from the 90’s, yep, still like it.
4. American Pickers on the history channel is a new favorite…if you haven’t watched it yet, you’re missing out.
5. There was a time as a kid that I collected mechanical pencils and hot wheels cars.
6. I love pepperoncini peppers.
7. I have crazy, uncontrollable eyebrows.  They really can’t be tamed.
8. I can recite the alphabet backwards in under 5 seconds.
9. I’m a stickler for good quality shoes.
10. Men really should shave their armpits…what IS the point of all that stuff under there?

AND as for the intention of this blog post, just wanted to share some more from this session…I’d say he’s a keeper, eh??

This sweet little being is the first baby for HIS parents…I officially give them permission to continue having babies and more babies.  He was my second dose of newborn sweetness over the weekend.  I’m not sure if Mr. Hatten is going to be allowing me to hang out with these cute lil’ new babies for fear of me getting any ideas. ;)

Thanks N & M for having me in your home…you have one handsome little guy on your hands and together, you make the sweetest little family.  Hope you like what you see!

Crazy day with not one but two newborn sessions…not typical but what the heck?  I mean really, hanging out with two brand new baby boys…I got a sweet fix today.  Up first, meet Mr. Eli and his locks.  He gave us a bit of a run for our money today but in the end, I think we won.

Thanks again “C” family for hosting me in your home.  I had a great time seeing you all – your kiddos are just beautiful…hope you like your sneak peek!

Isn’t it just so weird how some of the strangest things can trigger a memory and bring you back to a certain time in your life?  Our evenings are very much the same each night…after the kiddos are in bed, I’m on the computer right next to Mr. Hatten watching tv.  Last night was funny though because he landed on “Back to the Future.”  Whoa!  It just brought me back.  The highlight…the words “flux capacitor.”  I haven’t heard that in FOREVER and realized that I just don’t seem to use that term often enough in everyday life.  Yeah, yeah, I know that the flux capacitor is used in space craft but I just had visions of me leaning over the mechanic changing the tires on my very sporty mini-van and nonchalantly saying to him, “Would you mind checking the flux capacitor?”  Or even after a workout, “I think I injured my flux capacitor.”  So many uses!

Oh, and one other random rambling…have you had this tea?  It is my FAVORITE!  It is the absolute best.  I drink it A LOT.

Okay, one other item worth noting…I have a black eye.  It’s quite a nice shiner.  I really do need to take a picture of it.  Let’s just say that I’ve been officially initiated as “mom of boy.”  Well, let me take that back.  I think I may have been first initiated when I learned that “boy who eats sand later has sandy diaper.”  Anyway, as for my battle wound story, we rock-a-bye a bit every night before bed and sometimes he gets a case of the silly’s and completely gets me giggling.  The other night his silliness stemmed around needing to kiss me on my cheek.  After a good dozen of these, I turned my head at about the same time he threw his head back being silly and wham!  The crazy thing was that he was actually still cute because he kept saying, “bonk.”  Needless to say, I went to bed with a tiny little knot and woke up with a lovely ring of bright purple.  I think I just look tough.

Anyway, figured I should at least share a few pics…here’s a few more from this session.  How sweet can he be??

Ugh…crazy, busy, fast week with not nearly enough sleep.  On the positive, the snow is melting and spring is certainly knocking.  I have enjoyed the winter but am ready for a change.  I took my kiddos to the park today and it just felt good to be out in the sunshine without having to do the production of snowpants and such.  Bring the warm weather on…

In the mean time, I thought I would share some more from this session…pure sweetness.

This little guy wasn’t expected until next month but he felt Valentine’s Day would be a good day to join the world!  How fun is that??!!  Although a bit hidden, you’ve seen him before here.

I was lucky enough to get to spend the afternoon with him and his family.  He is so, so, SO very sweet…you may also remember that he joins two very sweet sisters and let’s just say he is certainly not lacking in being loved.

Thanks “T” family – I had a great time…truly, you make a beautiful family of five.  Here’s a small sneak peek of your baby boy.  I’ll certainly be posting more later…I wanted to save some surprises for the announcement.

Okay, I sit here and write this and just want to hold this little girlie again.  I surely did not get my fill.  She is seven pounds of sheer sweetness and I miss that sleepy baby girl already.  Welcome to the family Miss A…you are so very loved!

(Thanks guys for having me take pics of the most recent addition to our posse…as if you had a choice!  She truly is beautiful!  Here’s a little sneak peek…)

Okay, so this week was the week that I would FINALLY update my website.  The poor, poor website…so very negected.  Just in case you haven’t been over there lately because you’ve been sweeping drool off of your chin each time you do, well, yes, it’s finally updated!  Check it out!

As for what else is happening in this little world of mine, I’ve had a little birthday planning on the mind.  I know, it’s a couple months away but the big “5″ is coming up and it’s never too early to start thinking about something snazzy.  The theme request has been “Taylor Swift.”  Eek…no idea on this one.  Even better, I asked where she would like to have her party.  I’m really not entirely sure where this came from but the response was “Taco del Mars.”  I couldn’t help but giggle.  One, again, no idea how she thought of that and two, loved how it was “Mars” instead of Mar.  See why I need to start thinking about this stuff early??!  A Taylor Swift party at Taco del “Mars.”  Hmmmm….

For those who follow the blog (yes, both of you) and what I do, you know that I take a very limited number of session each month.  How else would I have time to write about birthday parties and stories about pretty much nothing???  Anyway, I have a bit of a newborn bug and I get to fulfill it in about a week as we hit the road to go take pics of my sister-in-law’s new baby girl.  I’m looking forward to it and also hoping to be able to wash my hands of any newborn craving as I exit.  Surely, that shouldn’t be a problem, right???  Oh, wait, midnight feedings, bags under eyes, hallucinations, inconsolable sobbing (okay, just mine), etc….yeah, I’m good.  I’m quite certain Little Buddy is meant to be the baby in our family.

So, it was like -5 degrees today for the high.  Yeah, the high.  Pretty much seals your nostrils together if you go outside.  I also found long ago that those temperatures can solidify drool created from a fire ball jawbreaker.  Random thought, I know, but when I was a kid, I would go to the nearby park to get on the bus to go to school and I can seriously still remember this kid (whom my dad would teasingly say was my boyfriend) with one or sometimes two fire balls in his mouth, wedged between his cheek and his teeth and a steady stream of fireball “juice” streaming down the corners.  Frozen on the cold days.  Isn’t that funny?  Fireballs in the morning?!  Surely a dentists dream…

Anyway, enough gab, I figured I would share some more newborn shots from this session since we’ve been talking newborns.  Hope everyone is enjoying 2010!!
