Now, this little cute family has been with me from the beginning, the VERY beginning.  They can’t go further back as they were the very first for me.  It has been three years and I can still remember plain as day where I was when I offered to take these little girlies’ pictures.  I knew that I would have to start somewhere and looking back, I know I was nervous with this offer.  Ah heck, I have to admit I STILL get nervous with my sessions!! ;)   So, here we are three years later with me talking this crew into looking lovely in some of Butte, Montana’s finest neighborhoods.  I think they had their doubts when we showed up here.  And awwwwwe, let’s not forget the sweet aroma of burning chemicals near by.  I only scope out the best for my sessions.  They’re troopers though and come to find out, I think they WERE putting their best game faces on!

O Family – I can’t thank you enough for your continued support with this crazy ride I’m on…you guys have been the best!  Hope you like what you see – I had a blast spending the morning with you!

This little girlie is going to be seeing a birthday in three days (six going on twenty-six!) – this one’s for you girl! :)

Yep, folks, that would be how many grand kids I had the opportunity to photograph at this session…crazy, yes, but I have to say, what an experience I’ll treasure.  These little critters are SO loved by their grandparents…you could just feel it.  Oh, and I figured out what makes them laugh…you know the bent-over, boisterous, explosion type laugh…allow me to let you in on this photographer trick.  You’ll want to walk backwards looking like you’re trying to get the shot and “pretend” that you stumble into your stool and nearly flip over backwards in front of, oh, say, 20 people or so.  Don’t thank me for disclosing my secret…truly, my treat.  I’ve tried it, well, once, and it works like a charm. ;)

Thanks SO much, Vickie and family, for the opportunity to put this “little” session together…there are a bundle of images to go through…can’t wait for you to see them!

Some days are just a bit rougher than others and you know it wasn’t so bad when you just look back at it and just laugh.  I’m not sure I can explain it adequately but between Little Miss stepping in dog poop, my Little Man aggravating her each and every second he had, big tears from her out of frustration, Little Man taking a series of ink stamps and covering his entire body, which required a bath, AND noticing fresh warm pee on my carpet approximately an inch from the linoleum in our bathroom from my weiner dog (whom we don’t usually have much for house training issues) who didn’t find much interest in going outside as it was looking like it was going to rain.  This required immediate cleanup with the addition of Little Man attempting to close the bathroom door on my legs and taking no reservations in stepping over me as I’m trying to clean it up.  I think he was indeed attempting to ride on my back all the while shouting “giddy-up horse.”  This followed by me asking Little Miss to get her shoes on as we were going to be headed out the door to a friends house for dinner…a minute passes and she somehow got something in her eye, which actually is kind of bad because it ended up being irritated all evening.  I’m a little bit concerned about it but am hoping it’s a bit better after resting it over the night.  Needless to say, it has certainly just been one of those days.  On the highlight list though was holding my little buddy as we left the park before lunch and he of course had his thumb in his mouth with one hand and it melted my heart that he was rubbing my back with the other.  As for Little Miss, cuddling her up tonight, teasing her, and seeing her sweet smiles even though she kept her eyes closed the whole time.  I’m just crazy about those little turkeys.

As for some pics, I just wanted to share some more from this session.  Their little family of four is pure sunshine.

Yes, it’s crickets you hear.  I have been traveling across the beautiful Black Hills in South Dakota with my crew for the past week.  I absolutely cannot express how much I enjoyed this little treat of a vacation.  I would have to say that this was our first “official” family (of four) vacation.  I couldn’t get enough of taking pics of my own kiddos and it really is funny how life changes.  Vacations are officially now all about what is going to make them smile because that is what indeed makes us happiest, eh?

If you are waiting on an email or inquiry response, please don’t think that I’ve forgotten about you…I’m back in action starting Monday.

For now, I thought I would post some more images from this session…still a favorite for me!  How sweet can a little family be?!!

Awww, this gal has it down.  She has to…she’s the only girl in the house!  She holds her own though and I had the pleasure of spending time with her and her team of boys.  What cuties they are and they gave me a glimpse of what is in my future…can’t wait!  Thanks so much H family for a great evening…you guys were a blast!

I first met this mother of two a couple of years ago at a friend’s house.  She brought the most amazing baked brie (caramel apple baked brie, I believe).  IT WAS AMAZING!  And since then, I’ve found that she ALWAYS brings amazing things to any function we’ve been at together.  Not only is she a great cook but she’s also polite and pleasant and kind and this was a great opportunity to get to know her and her family a bit more.  Let me just tell you, they are beyond sweet together and they just have that sense about them that just makes you feel good.  I will say though that my first impression of her husband was quiet and shy and let me just mention how off I was on that one.  He’s a firecracker who I think may be hoping for another photo session right away!  As for the kiddos, sweet, sweet, sweet…you just want to squeeze them!  They were so very good to me.  Thanks K family for allowing me to capture some moments of your family tonight…you have a good thing going.

So, I had this vision for this photo the other day.  It actually started when I saw this bike parked at a house near mine.  I’ve found that it never hurts to ask so here’s a shout out and thank you to Jody for letting me borrow her Mother’s Day gift…it worked like a charm!

Okay, so I have typed something completely pointless and deleted it probably twenty times now as I attempt to write SOMETHING.  I sit here eating my cookie dough ice cream (second bowl!) pondering the verbal content of this blog post.  The reason?  This week is certainly just one of those weeks…way too busy and just not enough of that quality time I thrive on.  I’m not going to lie, if there is something that is signature about me, it’s “quality.”  Yes folks, I only buy good shoes and good towels.  It’s just the way it is.  Most importantly though, I long for quality time and if it just isn’t happening, I’m crazy!  Enter this week.  Beyond busy.  On the positive note, I’m starting to see the light and if anything, it has been a reminder to chill a bit and just “be” with the ones you love…time marches far too quickly not to.

Thought I would post some more from this session.  Lately, I have had this mindset of imagining what people will think of photos so many years down to road.  With these, truly, twenty years from now, something tells me that they may still bring a smile or two…loved these ladies!

There really isn’t another word to describe this little family and they made MY early morning beautiful just spending time with them.  Aren’t they adorable??!

Thanks K crew for putting your trust in me for your first family photo session…you guys did amazing!  Truly, you are the sweetest little family and your kiddos, oh your kiddos!  Wow, what sweethearts!!  I absolutely cannot wait for you to see the rest of your images!!

Oh my goodness, seriously, I feel duped…This little family of four “claims” that they’ve NEVER, ever had family photos taken before.  THEY.DID.AMAZING!!  Not to be a huge sap but I could have shown so many images that just warmed my heart.  I can’t wait to dive into all of their images.

Thanks “O” Family for allowing me to capture some moments of your family…it was certainly a special session for me.  Hope you like your sneak peek!

I think as grown women (and men), it can often be difficult to come up with the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.  It used to be so cute to just paint a picture with our hand print on it and call it a day.  Once the novelty of that wears off and, well, your hand really isn’t changing in size anymore from one year to the next, we often ask, “What else is there?”  It seems that there are only so many macaroni necklaces a girl can ask for.  Now that this daughter has grown up, she took it to the next level and offered the idea of a photo session for just her and her mom.  This was a first for me and as fun as it was, I’m certainly hoping it’s not my last!

I don’t think it’s really any secret, but I LOVE laughing pictures.  I LOOOOOVE THEM!  I just always find that it seems to shoot right to the core and offers so much more than just a pretty picture.  A good laughing image gives back.  It’s with such elevated emotion that it puts a smile on others faces and is truly something joyful to reflect on…Life IS fun and SO worth capturing.

D & K, you certainly put a smile on MY face…thank you!  Hope you like your sneak peek…
