The possibilities are endless!  Most importantly, how about showcasing your family and offering a “feeling” at the same time???  Life IS truly art…

For inquiring minds, what you see here is a wall arrangement in our downstairs family room comprised of 2-16×20’s (canvas), 1-11×14, 2-8×10’s, 1-10×20, and 2-5×7’s.

Okay, so I am HORRIBLE about showcasing the products I offer.  I know that I should be better so here I am, with a post on one product piece I offer.  The 4×6 Accordion Album.  This is a leather album that arrives in a silk lined box for the perfect keepsake or special gift.

Okay, so this week was the week that I would FINALLY update my website.  The poor, poor website…so very negected.  Just in case you haven’t been over there lately because you’ve been sweeping drool off of your chin each time you do, well, yes, it’s finally updated!  Check it out!

As for what else is happening in this little world of mine, I’ve had a little birthday planning on the mind.  I know, it’s a couple months away but the big “5″ is coming up and it’s never too early to start thinking about something snazzy.  The theme request has been “Taylor Swift.”  Eek…no idea on this one.  Even better, I asked where she would like to have her party.  I’m really not entirely sure where this came from but the response was “Taco del Mars.”  I couldn’t help but giggle.  One, again, no idea how she thought of that and two, loved how it was “Mars” instead of Mar.  See why I need to start thinking about this stuff early??!  A Taylor Swift party at Taco del “Mars.”  Hmmmm….

For those who follow the blog (yes, both of you) and what I do, you know that I take a very limited number of session each month.  How else would I have time to write about birthday parties and stories about pretty much nothing???  Anyway, I have a bit of a newborn bug and I get to fulfill it in about a week as we hit the road to go take pics of my sister-in-law’s new baby girl.  I’m looking forward to it and also hoping to be able to wash my hands of any newborn craving as I exit.  Surely, that shouldn’t be a problem, right???  Oh, wait, midnight feedings, bags under eyes, hallucinations, inconsolable sobbing (okay, just mine), etc….yeah, I’m good.  I’m quite certain Little Buddy is meant to be the baby in our family.

So, it was like -5 degrees today for the high.  Yeah, the high.  Pretty much seals your nostrils together if you go outside.  I also found long ago that those temperatures can solidify drool created from a fire ball jawbreaker.  Random thought, I know, but when I was a kid, I would go to the nearby park to get on the bus to go to school and I can seriously still remember this kid (whom my dad would teasingly say was my boyfriend) with one or sometimes two fire balls in his mouth, wedged between his cheek and his teeth and a steady stream of fireball “juice” streaming down the corners.  Frozen on the cold days.  Isn’t that funny?  Fireballs in the morning?!  Surely a dentists dream…

Anyway, enough gab, I figured I would share some more newborn shots from this session since we’ve been talking newborns.  Hope everyone is enjoying 2010!!

So, on several occasions, I’ve had to stop and think to myself, “Is it normal to enjoy going to the Ob/gyn?”  I’m sure this is a common thought, right?  Okay, so maybe not.  Well, let me do share.  I LOVE to go to the ob/gyn.  Isn’t that funny?  I would go there ten times before I would go to the dentist once.  Here’s the kicker, I adore my doctor and I adore the office she resides in.  Each time I go in there, it’s like I’m getting together with girlfriends…minus the whole exam part, of course.  That just shows how very good they are at their job.  Truly, astounding!  I have always felt so very well cared for and cared about.  I will never forget when we had Little Miss and I looked at our doctor who also had tears in her eyes.  I guess it could have been her contact but that wouldn’t make as good of a story.  In all seriousness, I have developed the utmost respect for her, her nurse, and her office that there was no way I could say no when asked if I would be interested in helping decorate their office with some of my prints.

to start thinking about what else?  CHRISTMAS CARDS!  In September?!  It’s never too early.  Just in case you didn’t know, the Hatten family is a Christmas card family…it truly has become tradition.  We love giving them and love receiving them and yes, we ALWAYS critique.  It’s possible, we’ll never admit it, but it’s possible that we’ve become what some refer to as Christmas Card Snobs.  I’m not going to lie to you, Mr. Hatten has actually made fun of cards he’s seen in the past.  Not me.  I’m not like that. ;)   Okay, come on, we’ve all seen them, you know the cards with the glittery poinsettias on the front that you nearly toss to the side but you feel compelled to see who sent it so you open it up to find nothing but the boring greeting on the inside followed by nothing but the names of those who sent it.  That’s it.  Just the names.  No salutation.  No “Merry Christmas.”  Nothing.  And where does this card go?  Hmmmm…  And do you ever remember you even received it?  Well, I suppose you do if you LOVE glittery poinsettias!  And we’ve all seen the good ol’ Christmas letter that is included in so many of the cards we each receive.  Don’t get me wrong…I do actually adore most of them (oh, and we admittedly prepare one ourselves); however, there are those 10-page works of art with in depth discussions of the dental cleanings of Aunt Bernie (she did have to get a bridge this year) and of the plumbing problems experienced at the Johnsons (that darn running toilet).

Oh yeah, my point…I just wanted to give a call-out to any of my past sessions and to my future sessions who may be interested in Christmas cards this year that it’s never too early.  The possibilities are endless as to what can be done.  Thought I would throw in a few examples…hope everyone is having a great week!
